Special School Board Meeting
Oldham-Ramona School Dist 39-5
November 7, 2011
The Oldham-Ramona School Board of Education met in
special session at 5:15 p.m. at the school.
Present were Lisa Beyer, Larry Malcomb, Mike
Matson, Chandra Waikel, and Jay Hojer. Others present were Dick Amert,
Keith Neuharth, Bill Lutter, Deanne DeRungs, and Brian
Sieh. Chairman Beyer, who established a
quorum was present, called the meeting to order. Unless noted all motions were unanimous.
The bids
for General Requirements had already been accepted.
Action #3029: Motion by Waikel,
seconded by Matson to accept the bid from Amert
Construction for the plastic paneling for the kitchen, $14,200. No other bids were received.
Action #3030: Motion by Waikel,
seconded by Hojer to reject all bids and to re-bid the tiling, wall tile in
restrooms 106 and 112, and flooring and base.
The only bid received was from Syverson for
$29,722 for quarry tile and $16,242 for ceramic tile.
Action #3031:
Motion by Matson, seconded by Malcomb to
accept the bid from Olson Painting for completing the interior painting,
$9,425. The other bid received was from Lieffort Painting for $14,700.

#3032: Motion by Hojer, seconded by
Matson to accept the bid for specialties including bathroom partitions, grab
bars, paper dispensers, and mirrors from Amert
Construction, $11,500. No other bids
were received.

#3033: Motion by Waikel,
seconded by Matson to accept the bid for stainless steel kitchen equipment from
Institutions Services pending Bob Mathers
approval for deductions, $134,654.10 minus possible $1,500 in deductions. No other bids were received.

#3034: Motion by Malcomb,
seconded by Waikel to accept the bid for solid
surface countertops from Amert construction, $4,800. No other bids were received.

#3035: Motion by Malcomb,
seconded by Matson to accept the bid from Gene Rollinger
for fire sealants, $2,100 and also for joint sealants, $3,995. The other bid received for fire sealants was
from Midwest Sealant for $2,380 and joint sealants for $7,620.

#3036: Motion by Malcomb,
seconded by Hojer to pay Dee Lembcke $40 per school
newsletter as a purchased service for the computer work to lay out the
newsletter.

#3037: Motion by Hojer, seconded by Malcomb to accept the proposal for the new fire alarm
system from Automatic Building Controls for $6,994.14 and accept the proposal
from Barger Electric to install the system and new wiring, $6,422.
Action
#3038: Motion by Matson, seconded by Waikel to accept the proposal from MJ Roache Painting for
painting the north wall of the gymnasium, $875.
There was
not an executive session.
The next
regular meeting of the board is scheduled for Monday, November 14, 2011 at 7:00
p.m.
